Key technical points for matching tractors with rotary tillers

1.1 Does the power of the tractor match the required power of the implement.

When selecting a rotary tiller for tractors, attention should be paid to power matching. The power consumption of the matching tractor should be greater than that of the rotary tiller. For example, a rotary tiller requires a matching power of 100 horsepower, and if the user matches an 80 tractor, it is considered an unreasonable matching. Due to different manufacturers, the number and method of blade arrangement for rotary tillers with the same tillage range may not be the same, resulting in different loads on the equipment and varying power requirements.

1.2 Does the suspension mechanism type of the tractor match the implement.

If the tractor has a Class II suspension, the implement must also have a Class II suspension, otherwise it is considered a mismatch.

1.3 Does the power output shaft speed of the tractor match the implement.

The speed and speed of the rotary tiller blade shaft directly affect the operation effect. The speed ratio of rotary tillers varies from different manufacturers. Rotary tiller blade shaft speed=Tractor power output shaft speed × The number of teeth on the small umbrella gear of the rotary tiller ÷ the number of teeth on the large umbrella gear × Fixed gear ratio for rotary tillers. How to choose the blade shaft speed of a rotary tiller to match the tractor? The normal operating speed of the rotary tiller's blade shaft is usually 200-280 r/min, and the maximum cannot exceed 300 r/min.

It is also necessary to refer to the local soil conditions. When the soil is hard, it is advisable to reduce the speed of the knife shaft appropriately, and when the soil is soft, it is advisable to increase the speed of the knife shaft appropriately. If the blade shaft speed of the rotary tiller is 229 r/min when the power output shaft speed of the tractor is 720 r/min, and when the power output speed of the matching tractor is 540r/min or 1000 r/min, the blade shaft speed of the rotary tiller is far lower than or higher than its normal working speed, making it impossible to operate.

Does the height of the tractor power output shaft above the ground match the height of the rotary tiller's high and low boxes

Match.

Rotary tillers are divided into low box, medium high box, and high box. Usually, when the power output shaft of a tractor is higher than 60cm from the ground, a medium high box can be selected, a high box can be selected if it is higher than 65cm, and a low box can be selected if it is lower than 60cm.

Key points of coupling technology between tractor and rotary tiller

2.1 The total length of the universal joint should be matched with the matching tractor.

The transmission shaft assembly is an important working component for transmitting tractor power. The opening of the middle square shaft and the square shaft sleeve fork of the transmission shaft must be in the same plane. When installing, be sure to pay attention to the occurrence of installation errors. The transmission shaft and square shaft sleeve should ensure that the rotary tiller cannot be stuck in the highest position, and the joint length during operation should not be less than 15cm.

2.2 Connection between the implement and the tractor suspension rod.

When connecting the lifting rod and the lower pull rod, insert the pin into the waist shaped hole of the lifting rod to ensure that the machine has a certain amount of floating during operation, and the limit rod is fixed.

Key technical points for adjusting 3 units

(1) Adjust the left and right levels of the rotary tiller: Lower the rotary tiller to the point where the blade tip is close to the ground, and check if the height of the left and right blade tips above the ground is consistent. Otherwise, adjust the left and right lifting rods of the tractor to ensure that the height of the left and right blade tips above the ground is consistent, to ensure that the depth of cultivation is consistent.

(2) Adjust the level of the rotary tiller before and after: When lowering the rotary tiller to the required plowing depth, observe whether the power input shaft and transmission shaft of the rotary tiller are close to horizontal. If the angle is too large (>± 10 °), the length of the tractor's pull rod should be extended (or shortened) to ensure that the transmission shaft is in a favorable working state.

(3) Adjusting the height of the rotary tiller lift: To prevent damage to the transmission shaft, the angle between the transmission shaft during rotary tiller operation should not exceed ± 10 °, and when turning on the ground, it should not exceed 25 °. Therefore, for general field operations, it is only necessary to lift the blade tip off the ground.

(4) Installation method of rotary tiller blade: The blade holder of the rotary tiller is staggered welded to the blade shaft according to a certain pattern, so that the force on the rotary tiller blade shaft is uniform, and to prevent problems of missed tillage and blockage during work. The installation method of rotary tillers varies depending on the requirements of different assignments. Ridge breaking cultivation adopts the outward installation method: the tips of the two end blade teeth are inward, and the rest of the blade tips are outward, and the middle of the land is concave after cultivation; The cultivation in fields with grooves adopts the inward installation method: the tips of all blade teeth are symmetrical inward, and the middle of the ground surface protrudes after cultivation; Adopting a mixed installation method on a flat surface: the tips of the two end teeth face inward, while the rest of the tips are arranged in a staggered manner inside and outside.

Key technical points for the operation of Unit 4

4.1 Engine speed and gear selection. During normal operation, the engine speed is around 1900 r/min, and below 1600 r/min, the unit will not be able to operate. So, when the crew starts working, they need to increase the throttle to ensure that the engine speed is above 2000r/min; During homework, the tractor should use low IV and medium II forward gears, and medium III gears are allowed for the second round of rotary tillage.

4.2 Correct operation and use of distributors. The distributor has three working positions: lifting, neutral, and pressure drop. When operating the lifting process through the distributor, attention should be paid to its working position, otherwise it is easy to cause damage to components such as the gear pump and high-pressure oil pipe in the hydraulic system. For units with hydraulic suspension devices with strong pressure structures operating in farmland, when the agricultural tools are buried in the soil, the handle of the multi way valve must be moved to the "floating" position to ensure the normal operation of the tractor and agricultural tools. It is strictly prohibited to place the handle in the descending position.

4.3 Land turning and land transfer operations. During rotary tillage operations, the tractor can only drive in a straight line and cannot turn or reverse. When turning on the ground without cutting off power, the rotary tiller should not be raised too high, and the engine speed should be appropriately reduced to avoid damaging the universal joint. The transmission angle at both ends of the universal joint should not exceed 30 °. After turning, enter a straight line and then lower the rotary tiller into the soil. When walking at a long distance, cut off the power of the rotary tiller and lock it after reaching the highest position.

4.4 Operations on different soil plots. When operating a rotary tiller, the forward speed of the tractor should be reasonably selected based on the actual soil conditions, in order to maximize the effective power of the tractor and ensure the working efficiency of the rotary tiller. The operating speed of the unit is generally required to be 2-5km/h, and the blade shaft speed for normal operation of the rotary tiller is usually 200-280 r/min. Only when the forward speed of the unit matches the blade shaft speed of the implement can good operating results be achieved. The rotation speed of the rotary tiller blade shaft also needs to be selected according to the local soil conditions. For example, if the specific resistance of sandy loam soil is small, a rotary tiller with a slightly faster blade shaft speed can be selected; A hanging tiller with a slower blade shaft speed can be chosen for high clay resistance. We cannot accelerate the forward speed of the unit and the speed of the tool shaft in order to improve work efficiency. This not only fails to achieve good work results, but also lowers the actual working speed and damages the components of the unit.

4.5 Equipment maintenance. The tillage depth of a rotary tiller is generally 12-16cm. Due to the high working resistance of the rotary tiller, it is necessary to regularly add gear oil to the middle gearbox of the rotary tiller and lubricating grease at each oil nozzle during use. Carefully check the fastening of each connecting bolt and promptly clean the blade shaft from grass and soil. Remember! Turn off the engine and stop the machine during maintenance.

4.6 The difference between the working speed and idle speed of tractor power output. Due to inconsistent standards, the meaning of power output speed markings varies among different manufacturers. Some indicate operating speed, while others indicate idle speed. Therefore, it cannot be simply assumed that the higher the marked speed, the higher the operating speed. Choosing a high speed ratio can lead to a significant increase in workload, resulting in the illusion of engine weakness.
